Giving

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.-Sir Winston Chrchill

Giving of myself to others is without a doubt one of the greatest pleasures that I have received from life. Whether it is something as small as giving a smile or if it is something big and extravagant, it is always one of the most fulfilling things that I have done.

You must give some time to your fellow men. Even if it's a little thing, do something for others - something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it. Giving frees us from the familiar territory of our own needs by opening our mind to the unexplained worlds occupied by the needs of others.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, one of my favorite authors once said, "There is a wonderful mythical law of nature that the three things we crave most in life -- happiness, freedom, and peace of mind -- are always attained by giving them to someone else."

Give something of yourself everyday, and you will have a wonderful life.

Align yourself with a group of givers and you will have an extraordinary life.

Figure out what you have available to give and what you want to give and begin giving it away today. You will get more than your share in return.

The Law of Reciprocity states that one must give to receive. You have also heard the saying "what goes around, comes around." This statement works for giving also. What you give you will get more of in your life.

Here are some more thoughts on giving.

Enjoy!

If we have the opportunity to be generous with our hearts, ourselves, we have no idea of the depth and breadth of love's reach.
Margaret Cho, weblog, 03-09-04

Do give books - religious or otherwise - for Christmas. They're never fattening, seldom sinful, and permanently personal.
Lenore Hershey

Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.
Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931)

Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can.
John Wesley (1703 - 1791)

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 - 1882)

A compliment is a gift, not to be thrown away carelessly, unless you want to hurt the giver.
Eleanor Hamilton

The excellence of a gift lies in its appropriateness rather than in its value.
Charles Dudley Warner (1829 - 1900), 'Eleventh Study,' Backlog Studies, 1873

The great art of giving consists in this: the gift should cost very little and yet be greatly coveted, so that it may be the more highly appreciated.
Baltasar Gracian

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

I will be in Utah Monday-Wednesday of next week, but I will attempt to update my blog while I am on the road this time.

Also, there is a special guest speaker coming to Santa Ana, California on Tuesday of next week. This gentleman is the CSO and Co-Founder of a company that is leading the next generation of giving, ViSalus. If you are interested in attending this free event, call me for more details.

Till next time, live with passion and at the least, give a smile to someone. You never know how far the ripples of the pebble that you throw into the pond will travel. :-)

You're the Best!

Have a great weekend!

Life

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

What else are you going to do? Complain about it. That is the easy way out.

Life is always full of surprises. Sometimes life just isn't fair. One thing is certain in life, it is not what happens to you that matters, it is how you respond to what happens to you that will determine how your life will be.

You have the power and ability to make your life into anything that you want it to be. The one thing that we have complete control over in our lives is our thoughts. Our thoughts become things, literally. All the things that you use on a daily basis started as a thought in the mind of somebody many years ago.

Cars, computers, airplanes, phones, speakers and even light bulbs all started as a thought in the mind of the creators of these things. Thomas Edison had the thought that man was not meant to light his way through life with a lantern, so he created the incandescent light bulb. The Wright brothers had to think about a flying machine before they could ever make an airplane. There are millions of examples that prove that your thoughts become things.

In your life, you can focus your thoughts on exactly what you want to do or what you want to have, and with some imagination and hard work, you can get anything within reason. It costs you no more to dream big than it does for you to dream small, so go for those big dreams that you have.

One of my mentors once told me that life is nothing more than a series of memories strung together. I thought about it and he was right. Then he asked me if my memories were predominantly good or bad? Of course I had a mixture of good and bad, but the good outweighed the bad.

One of the core values of ViSalus is Life. We impact peoples life experiences(memories) through our community, through our products and most recently through our technology. If you want to start having better life experiences, plug into ViSalus. You will love what you find.

So life is all about experiences(memories). Experiences are the results of thoughts that you acted on at one time or another. And the only thing that we have complete control over is our thoughts. So start choosing your thoughts wisely, because at the end of your life, all you will be left with is the experiences and memories that you have acquired throughout your life.

Here are some more thoughts on life!

Enjoy!

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
-Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive.
-Robert Heinlein (1907 - 1988), "Job", 1984

Life is a zoo in a jungle.
-Peter De Vries

Life is a long lesson in humility.
-James M. Barrie (1860 - 1937)

Life is something that everyone should try at least once.
-Henry J. Tillman

Life is something that happens when you can't get to sleep.
-Fran Lebowitz (1950 - )

Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.
-Brendan Gill

The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.
-Ben Stein

Make the most of your life experiences by choosing how to react to certain situations and by surrounding yourself with like minded people.

Cause

You have within you the power and the ability to leave an impact on the world.

You were not born to just be mediocre or to just survive. You were put here for greatness, to leave your mark on the history of the world.

How you are going to make an impact isn't the important thing. WHY you are going to is. What is your reason why? What is your burning desire? What do you want to do more than anything else with your life?

Once you figure out what it is that you want to do most and back it with your burning desire(your WHY), nothing will be able to stop you from leaving your mark on the world.

Another way to leave an impact on the world is to join or start a cause. There are all sorts of causes out there that will allow you to join them and impact hundreds to thousands of people. And there are a few causes that will enable you to directly or indirectly impact the lives of tens of thousands to millions of people.

In the Bible, it is mentioned that greatness comes in the form of helping the many. With that said, my goal in life is to impact as many people as I possibly can whether it be directly or indirectly.

I have also heard this stated as "If you help enough people get what they want, you will eventually get everything that you want."

It is obvious that the more people that you impact in life, the greater and more successful your life will be.

There is a cause that I have recently become a part of. Through this cause I have already impacted thousands of people directly and indirectly in a short amount of time. I would like to extend an invitation to you to join this cause.

The "March to a Million" cause is all about impacting 1 million people by sharing with them samples of the ViSalus Sciences products over the next 3 months. ViSalus itself is a company with a cause, that cause is to impact the life, health and prosperity of all those we come in contact with. Over the past 3-4 years we have done exactly that, impact peoples lives in every way that you can imagine.

The "March to a Million" campaign was started just over 3 weeks ago and we have already impacted over 120,000 people through sharing our products with them. In that time, ViSalus as a company has had record growth and we have been able to recession proof thousands of individuals and families all across the country.

This blog entry has been my way of sharing with you the cause of ViSalus and the "March to a Million" campaign.

To get more info visit my website www.Vi-Space.net and watch the free video in the middle of the page, then enter your info on the right side and I will get in contact with you. Or you can contact me directly(my number is at the bottom of this entry).

No matter what you decide to do, remember these two things. You were born to be GREAT! And greatness comes in the form of helping the many! So figure out your WHY, and figure out how to impact as many people as possible!

Till nest time, live with passion!

You're the Best!

Luck

Luck has been defined as the chance happening of fortunate or adverse events. Luck has also been described as probability taken personally.

"Luck" is an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that leads to a favorable outcome. It is an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that causes as event to result one way rather than another. It may also be fortune or your overall circumstances or condition in life.

You can make your own luck!

How? If you prepare yourself for that fatefull day when opportunity comes, you will make your own luck. Those who are not prepared will miss the opportunity and blame it on bad luck, while those that did the hard work to prepare for opportunity will contribute there success to good luck. Another definition of luck is when preperation and opportunity meet.

We all face good luck and bad luck daily. Those of us that persist through the bad luck are the ones that are around when the good luck comes. And through preperation, we are ready to receive the good luck.

We are all lucky to even be here, alive, and we are lucky to be reading this entry. There are a lot of people out there that don't have the freedoms that we as Americans take for granted everyday. Take a look at the things and people that you have in your life right now. Are you lucky to have them or are you unlucky to have them?

You are a lot luckier than you thought you were. Take the time to acknowledge the things that you are lucky to have. Be greatful for them, and you will be blessed with more good luck and good fortune. Take them for granted and you will end up losing all the good things that you have or you will end up feeling unlucky.

These are just a few tips on how you can make your own luck. Take them for what they are worth to you.

Here are some more thoughts on luck.

Enjoy!

People always call it luck when you've acted more sensibly than they have.
Anne Tyler (1941 - ), Celestial Navigation

The only thing that overcomes hard luck is hard work.
Harry Golden (1902 - 1981)

A pound of pluck is worth a ton of luck.
James A. Garfield (1831 - 1881)

We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don't like?
Jean Cocteau (1889 - 1963)

True luck consists not in holding the best of the cards at the table; luckiest is he who knows just when to rise and go home.
John Hay (1838 - 1905), Distichs, latter 19th century

Luck is what you have left over after you give 100 percent.
Langston Coleman

Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)

I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.
Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826), (attributed)

Till next time work on making your own luck and live with passion!

You're the Best!

Balance

What is the ability to maintain the center of gravity of a body within the base of support with a minimal postural sway?

Balance.

We never put too much thought into balancing ourselves because it is something that comes fairly natural while we are growing and learning how to walk. Without knowing how to control the balance of your body you will fall all over the place. Which will make getting up and trying again more and more difficult.

If you have ever watched a baby that is learning how to walk, you will see how awkward and uncoordinated we all were at one time. Through persistence and determination though, the baby eventually learns how to balance himself and walk.

Our life is the same way. We are constantly attempting to balance work and pleasure, family and friends, business and emotion. This seems to be an ongoing struggle to get all the things that you like or love to do in your life to balance out.

Sometimes it seems like there are not enough hours in a day to equally distribute your attention to all the things you are doing. There are many programs out there that can help you find balance in your life, but I am just going to keep it simple today.

Figure out the things that are most important in your life and spend a majority of your time on them. Whether it is your family, your faith, your business, or anything else that you enjoy doing, prioritize the things in order of importance to you and you will find the balance in your life that you are looking for.

Once you find balance in your life, everything seems to fall in place and become easier, just like when a baby finds his balance, walking becomes easier.

Here are some more thoughts on balance.

Enjoy!

The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man.
-Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC)

We can be sure that the greatest hope for maintaining equilibrium in the face of any situation rests within ourselves.
-Francis J. Braceland, O Magazine, April 2003

What I dream of is an art of balance.
-Henri Matisse (1869 - 1954), O Magazine, April 2003

So divinely is the world organized that every one of us, in our place and time, is in balance with everything else.
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)

Order is not pressure which is imposed on society from without, but an equilibrium which is set up from within.
-Jose Ortega y Gasset (1883 - 1955)

I've learned that you can't have everything and do everything at the same time.
-Oprah Winfrey (1954 - ), O Magazine, April 2003

Figure out what is most important to you and prioritize everything around it. Make your life the way that you want it, complete and Balanced!

Till next time, live with passion!

You're the Best!

Opportunities

The history of the world for the last 10,000 years reads as follows;

Opportunity mixed with difficulty.

Sometimes it doesn't seem that simple, but it really is. We all have trials and tribulations that we have to go through, but there are always opportunities mixed in with them. Sometimes it seems like we have more difficulties than we have opportunities, but depending on how you respond to either one when they come along is how you will see your life.

What you focus on you get more of. So if you focus on difficulties, you will get more difficulties. If you focus on opportunities, you will get more opportunities.

Difficulties come very easily and often, most the time with no work on our part, and they are easy to recognize. Opportunities on the other hand don't come along as often as difficulties and are a lot harder to recognize than difficulties because they are disguised in work clothes. As long as you keep an open mind and your not afraid to do a little bit of work, you will notice that there are opportunities all around you. Just change your focus.

I am sure that at some point in your life, whether it has already happened or it hasn't, a great "once in a lifetime" opportunity has been introduced to you. Did you see it? Did you take advantage of it? Are you reaping the rewards of it? If not, why? If so, how?

One example of a "once in a lifetime" opportunity would be Microsoft. If you were alive back when Microsoft was first getting started, knowing then what you know now, would you have invested every spare dollar that you had into Microsoft? I know that I would have!

What if there was an opportunity sitting right in front of you today that someone was attempting to share with you that could potentially be as big or bigger than Microsoft? Would you recognize it? I am not sure if I would recognize it right away, but from what I have learned in the past few years, I would be open to taking an in depth look at it and I would make sure to do my due diligence.

Be open when someone presents an opportunity to you because you never know when it could be that "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

It never hurts to take a serious look at an opportunity, but it always hurts to see 5 to 10 years down the road what you missed out on.

Here are some more thoughts on opportunity.

Enjoy!

A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.
-Sir Francis Bacon (1561 - 1626)

While we stop to think, we often miss our opportunity.
-Publilius Syrus (~100 BC), Maxims

You create your opportunities by asking for them.
-Patty Hansen, Prevention Magazine, 11-05

The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word 'crisis.' One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger - but recognize the opportunity.
-John F. Kennedy (1917 - 1963), Speech in Indianapolis, April 12, 1959

Trouble is only opportunity in work clothes.
-Henry J. Kaiser (1882 - 1967)

There is no security on this earth, there is only opportunity.
-General Douglas MacArthur (1880 - 1964)

Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.
-Demosthenes (384 BC - 322 BC)

Seize opportunity by the beard, for it is bald behind.
-Bulgarian Proverb

To conclude, be open and willing to look for and at opportunities. If your not, you will never find them.

ViSalus is one of the greatest opportunities in the country right now. Don't sell yourself short by not taking a serious look at the opportunity. Trust me, after you do your due diligence, you will not regret it! http://www.ldcox.com/

Till tomorrow, be open and live with passion!

You're the Best!

Imagination

You have heard the saying, knowledge is power, right? If you apply the knowledge that you have acquired, that is where the power comes from.

But is there anything that is more important than knowledge? Yes there is!

Imagination! While knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.

You can imagine exactly how you want your life to be. Imagination disposes of everything; it creates beauty, justice, and happiness, which are everything in this world.

Being human - we all have been given the potential to develop a powerful 'creative imagination' to use for our benefit and possibly the benefit of all mankind. Everything mankind has achieved throughout its existence is a result of its "human imagination".

Human Imagination is unique to mankind alone - no other creature on Earth has this remarkable power. It is what makes us human! It is the ability to visualize ideas in our mind and then bring these ideas into existence, to be creative. It gave people the opportunity to began improving their lives. By developing this powerful imagination many people throughout the history of mankind have benefited greatly by using their unique power to create every conceivable innovation that can be imagined. You too can benefit by developing a strong creative imagination.

Human imagination is the ‘special sense’ that gives people the power to become aware of much more then our animal senses. We all know about our other senses such as; sight, hearing, smell, taste, balance, etc. that our brain depends on for its contact with the outside world.

These are our animal senses that all the higher animals have to survive and prosper. Human Imagination is “our special sense” that has allowed mankind to reach out beyond the very narrow animal world into a vast new universe, to interact with the wonders of nature.

So harness this wonderful thing called imagination that all of us have been blessed with and use it to help you achieve your goals in life.

If you want to learn more about imagination and the other factors that I have been writing about pick up a copy of the book "Think and Grow Rich" written by Napoleon Hill. Most of the information that I have been writing about recently has come from this book. This book has literally transformed my life as well as millions of other peoples lives over the last 70 years. There is only one book in the history of the world that has sold more copies and that is the Bible.

Here are some more thoughts on imagination.

Enjoy!

Imagination is more important than knowledge...
-Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)

There is only one admirable form of the imagination: the imagination that is so intense that it creates a new reality, that it makes things happen.
-Sean O'Faolain (1900 - 1991)

Everything you can imagine is real.
-Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)

Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.
-George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)

An idea is salvation by imagination.
-Frank Lloyd Wright (1869 - 1959)

Our imagination is the only limit to what we can hope to have in the future.
-Charles F. Kettering (1876 - 1958)

Memory feeds imagination.
-Amy Tan (1952 - )

It doesn't cost you anything more to dream BIG then it does to dream small. Use your imagination and go for your goals!

Take care and make it a great day!

You're the Best!

Desire

What will make you pursue and achieve your chief definite aim or major goal in life faster than you could have ever imagined? A little thing called desire!

Desire is a sense of longing for a person or object or hoping for an outcome. The same sense is expressed by emotions such as "craving" or "hankering". When a person desires something or someone, their sense of longing is excited by the enjoyment or the thought of the item or person, and they want to take actions to obtain their goal. The motivational aspect of desire has long been noted by philosophers; Hobbes (1588 – 1679) asserted that human desire is the fundamental motivation of all human action.

When you mix your goals with a burning desire to achieve them you will find that you become almost unstoppable in your pursuit of them. Going back to yesterday and tying into persistence, you will find two of the most powerful keys to success that have ever been discovered. When you combine these two things with the process of taking massive action, there will be nothing that can stop you from eventually achieving your goals no matter how big they are.

When it comes to success in any endeavor in life, a shot glass worth of desire is worth more than a pitcher of talent. A person with a burning desire shows what he truly is by what he does with what he has. When you desire something strong enough, excuses disappear and you are left with reasons why.

Here are some more thoughts on desire.

Enjoy!

What makes the engine go? Desire, desire, desire.
-Stanley Kunitz, O Magazine, September 2003

Desire creates the power.
-Raymond Holliwell

One must desire something to be alive.
-Margaret Deland, O Magazine, September 2002

In men of the highest character and noblest genius there is to be found an insatiable desire for honour, command, power, and glory.
-Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC)

If you greatly desire something, have the guts to stake everything on obtaining it.
-Brendan Francis

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who overcomes his enemies.
-Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC), In Stobaeus, Florilegium

One must not lose desires. They are mighty stimulants to creativeness, to love, and to long life.
-Alexander A. Bogomoletz

The wise man will love; all others will desire.
-Afranius

When you start applying some of these principles to your everyday life you will immediately begin to notice that things are changing. Whether it be subtle little changes or massive changes in the way you live, you will begin to improve your life. You have the power to control your destiny by deciding exactly what it is that you want and taking persistent action toward achieving your desire.

Till next time, take action and live with passion!

You're the Best!

Persistence

What do you first do when you learn to walk? You fall down, do you not? Then you get back up and fall again. And when you have fallen over and over and made all the mistakes you think that you possibly can, what do you find? That you can walk. Well, whatever you want to do in life is the same thing as learning to walk! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live!

As you reflect upon your life, how many times have you fallen down? Did you pick yourself up each time and say that you'll try again? Regardless whether it's the 5th attempt, the 19th try, the 33rd rejection you've received, do you keep on going?

I certainly need reminders to persist and this list of quotes will serve as wake-up calls during those days when I'm faltering along my journey.

Enjoy these persistence quotes and may they rekindle your spark to go after your heart's desires!

Hang on tight to your goals, dreams and let's keep on going!

We are made to persist. That's how we find out who we are.
-Tobias Wolff, 'In Pharaoh's Army'

That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the task itself has become easier, but that our ability to perform it has improved.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)

You must keep sending work out; you must never let a manuscript do nothing but eat its head off in a drawer. You send that work out again and again, while you're working on another one. If you have talent, you will receive some measure of success - but only if you persist.
-Isaac Asimov (1920 - 1992)

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
-Calvin Coolidge (1872 - 1933)

Energy and persistence conquer all things.
-Benjamin Franklin (1706 - 1790)

When you find something that you truely want to accomplish in your life, make it into your cheif definite aim, set an action plan, back it with hard work and persistence and don't stop until you achieve the results your after.

If it wasn't for persistence, Thomas Edison would have never attempted 10,000+ experiments to figure out how to make the incandescent light bulb into a reality.

You can acheive anything that you want in life. You only need to believe that you can and persistantly take action toward the attainment of your goals.

Be persisant, believe and take action!

You're the Best!

Decisions

In life, it's not what happens to you that matters, it's how you react to what happens that matters.

You are the only one that has the power to decide how to react to any given situation.

Life is full of decisions. The way in which we decide to do certain things will guide us through life.

One of the most important concepts that man has ever introduced is the power of decisions.

The word decision, in its original Latin root, means to cut off from any other situation.

Consequently, a decision is something that must be fulfilled. It is an obligation to oneself and to others.

Throughout history, we have seen how some simple decisions have led to great events. Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat on a bus led to the Civil Rights movement in America.

Similarly, Mahatma Gandhi's decision not to resort to violence defeated the greatest empire the world had seen.

To understand the power of a decision to understand the greatest power available to man.

Indeed, it is our decisions and, more importantly their strength and our certainty, that hold the keys to our future.

Decisions are like muscles. One must start off by making small decisions just as one starts off lifting small weights. As you progress and grow, decisions become easier and, consequently, have a greater effect. Today, try to make a commitment to decide to do two things each day. These could be simple things such as taking a 10 minute walk or calling someone that you have not spoken to in a while. By doing this, you will unlock a powerful force within you that wants to grow, expand and make a difference. By utilising your power of decision, you will soon be doing things you never thought possible.
Here are some more thoughts on decisions.

Enjoy!

The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.
-Ben Stein

If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise.
-Robert Fritz

The self is not something ready-made, but something in continuous formation through choice of action.
-John Dewey (1859 - 1952)

It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
-J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, 1999

The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice.
-George Eliot (1819 - 1880)

I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision.
-Eleanor Roosevelt (1884 - 1962)

The more alternatives, the more difficult the choice.
-Abbe' D'Allanival

I want to leave you with one last thing for today, decide to take action and follow through on the two decisions you make today.

You're life can be exactly the way you want it to be, you just have to decide to make it that way!

Take care and decide to make it a great day!

You're the Best! (Decide to be)

Excellence

What do you get when you:
-Care more than others think is wise?
-Risk more than what others think is safe?
-Dream more than others think is practical?
-Expect more than others think is possible?
You get the focus of todays thoughts, Excellence!

Excellence is not a skill though, it is your attitude.

You can decide at anytime to become excellent. All you have to do is figure out what you want to be excellent in and go after it.

You don't have to worry about getting it right at first, just get it going. Learn from the mistakes that you make and apply what you learn to avoid making the same mistakes. Remember, the only real mistake that you can make is the one that you don't learn from.

There are all sorts of educational programs and seminars out there that can help you to strive for and achieve excellence. The cost of some of these programs ranges anywhere from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars.
